Moto2 GP Japan Tests 1 – Somkiat Chantra achieved the best time in the first practice session of the Japanese Grand Prix, 14th stage of the Moto2 class, scheduled in Motegi.

The IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia rider recorded his best lap in 1:50.477 (time recorded with new tyre, ed.) ahead of Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and Filip Salac (QJMOTOR Gresini Moto2).

In fourth position, we find Manuel Gonzalez (Correos Prepago Yamaha VR46 Team), ahead of the Kalex of Jake Dixon (GASGAS Aspar Team) and Ai Ogura (IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia). Seventh time for Izan Guevara (GASGAS Aspar Team), followed by Fermin Aldeguer (GT Trevisan SpeedUp).

Closing the Top 10 times: Aron Canet (Pons Wegow Los40) and Joe Roberts (Italtrans Racing Team).

The other Italians: 11th Tony Arbolino (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team), Dennis Foggia (Italtrans Racing Team), Alberto Surra (Forward Racing Team) and 30th the MotoE world champion, Mattia Casadei (Fantic Racing) who replaces the injured Celestino Vietti.
