Barcelona Grand Prix, Sky Racing Team VR46 – Excellent performance by Luca Marini who obtained pole position in qualifying for the Catalunya GP, recording the new track record of 1:43.355. For the race, Luca is aware that it will be a long and hard-fought race but the talent of the VR46 Riders Academy is confident that he can have his say.

Good performance also for Marco Bezzecchi, protagonist this morning of a fall fortunately without consequences; the “Bez” will start from the second row, in sixth position.

Luca Marini: “I'm very happy with the pole because we came from Misano, a completely different track with much more grip and I didn't expect to be able to be so fast straight away. I started strong yesterday, I managed the rear tire as best as I could and I feel really good on the bike. Tomorrow will be a very long and difficult race: the key will be the stability of the rear compound. There are many strong riders, Sam (Lowes ed.) is close and the SpeedUps have always been very competitive in these types of conditions".

Marco Bezzecchi: “A so-so day. In FP3 we were doing some tests on the bike, I went back to the garage and when I went out to get back on track the tire was cold and I fell. We lost a lot of time and I didn't qualify 100%. The second row isn't bad, but I'm still not perfect. However, we know where to intervene, I lose something in T4 and I'm sure we will be able to take a step forward for the warm up. As always, thanks to all the guys on the team who did a great job."
