Moto2 Race Brno 2017 – The team driver Forward Racing, Luca marini, with today's fourth place, achieved the best placing of his career; difficult race for Lorenzo Baldassarri.

After the second start due to the red flag, Luca imposed his pace and managed to recover several positions, then overtaking with three laps to go, Francis Bagnaia:

“First of all I have to say that I'm really excited about this weekend! At first it wasn't easy to find a good rhythm after the restart, but then I felt progressively better on the bike. I noticed that the other riders were struggling to get back into the rhythm in the wet, so I tried to take advantage of it immediately and gain as many positions as possible up to fourth place. I then tried to close the gap with Oliveira, but unfortunately I wasn't able to catch up to him. I'm really satisfied, also because this fourth place, my best result in my career to date, is a good starting point to start the second part of the Championship in the best possible way. Now we think about Austria confidently and with a truly positive mood."

Lorenzo fought despite the pain in his ankle, managing to cross the finish line in eighteenth place:

"This Grand Prix was a strange return to the track. We tried to give our best this weekend, even though the weather conditions changed often and quickly. Obviously I would have liked to stay in the leading positions, but despite this I have to say that I enjoyed it, it was a good race, especially in the second part. In the dry I started well, despite being in a large and therefore risky group. I tried to make up for it in the second part of the race, and I must say that in the wet I felt good and had a good pace, despite this some riders overtook me and I wasn't strong enough in the braking points. In any case it was nice to get back on the bike. Now the goal is to return home and resume training and physiotherapy treatments to continue recovery with the ankle and arrive in Austria ready for further progression."
