Moto2 – FTR celebrates the first victory in the new category
Andrea Iannone's victory at Mugello was also the first for FTR. In fact, despite running under the name "SpeedUp", the bike is an FTR even if modified in some parts by Luca Boscoscuro's team. Iannone was also the first Moto2 rider to win after starting from pole position. Here are the words of Steve Bones, director of FTR.
“This is a magnificent day for FTR and Team Speed Up. Iannone's performance was very impressive. His improvement on a four-stroke was huge. At the end of last season he struggled to challenge the top 10 in a Spanish Supersport Championship race and the start of this season has also been tough for him but his fourth place at Le Mans two weeks ago was obviously a sign of the potential of he. All the riders on our bikes did well today, we were able to provide a bike capable of winning world championship races and we are very satisfied, for the technicians and the sponsors.”
