Moto2 Brno, Free Practice 1: Rabat is the fastest
Mattia Pasini (Forward Racing), eleventh is the best of the Italians
World championship leader Esteve Rabat achieved the best time in the first free practice session of the MotoGP class in Brno. The Spanish rider stopped the clock at a time of 2:03.126, going 0.172s ahead of the German Sandro Cortese, riding to the Kalex of the Dynavolt Intact GP.
The Swiss Dominque Aegerter (winner at the Sachsenring) is third and ahead of the Spaniard Julian Simon and the Finnish Mika Kallio, the closest in the standings to Esteve Rabat (only seven points separate him from his teammate).
Sixth time for the Frenchman from Caterham, Johann Zarco, seventh for the German Jonas Folger, eighth for the Swiss Thomas Luthi, ninth for the German Marcel Schrotter and tenth for Maverick Vinales, who paddock rumors say will be in Suzuki MotoGP with a view to 2015.
The best of the Italian drivers is Mattia Pasini, eleventh and fresh from the bad "bang" in Indianapolis. Franco Morbidelli and Simone Corsi occupy fourteenth and fifteenth place, while Lorenzo Baldassarri is twenty-sixth.
