Moto2 GP Spielberg 2017 – Good performance by Pecco Bagnaia who finished in fourth position; unlucky race for Stefano manzi, forced to retire.

Pecco Bagnaia confirms himself among the best rookies of this season; despite some difficulties at the start of the race, he managed to catch up with the fastest riders, obtaining fourth position which takes him to fifth position in the world championship with 100 points:

“A really long race, especially for me who rode almost all the time alone. I struggled at the start, then I tried to close the gap with the first group, but it was tough. I did my best, but, in the rush to recover, I went off the track and was forced to give up the position to Pasini. I overtook him one more time, and, in the final laps, I had Luthi in my sights. I tried, without success. Overall a good weekend: we were competitive, but we have to continue working to be faster in the initial stages of the race.".

Stefano manzi was involved in an accident at the start; he took part in the race again but in his haste to recover he fell:

“A shorter race than expected: I started well, I immediately recovered several positions, but at the first corner I was involved in the collective crash. I started running again, but I was now at the back of the group. I tried to recover, but I no longer had the same feeling and, after a few laps, I found myself on the ground without being able to do anything to prevent it".
