Moto2 – Aragon Free Practice 1 – Andrea Iannone the fastest
The Aragon Grand Prix of the MotoGP was inaugurated by the Moto2s, on track on Friday morning for the first free practice session, with Andrea Iannone setting the best time with his Speed Up. The driver from Vasto stopped the clock on a time of 1'56.223, obtaining the best performance of the morning ahead of Julian Simon (Suter – Aspar) and Claudio Corti (Suter – Forward), two tenths behind.
In fourth place was the wild card Coghlan with the FTR of Monlau Joe Darcey, who also preceded the world championship leader Toni Elias with the Moriwaki of the Gresini team forced to recover 4 tenths from the top.
Talmacsi, Gadea, Hernandez, Luthi and Simone Corsi follow in the standings in tenth position ahead of Scott Redding, recovering after the bad accident at Misano where Shoya Tomizawa lost his life.
Thirteenth is Roberto Rolfo, 19th is Raffaele De Rosa, 21st Mattia Pasini (fielded by Kiefer Racing), 23rd Alex De Angelis, 25th the debutant Michele Pirro with the Gresini team (replacing Ivanov), further back Alex Baldolini and Niccolo Canepa.
