Moto2: In Jerez the first session goes to the Kalex of Esteve Rabat's Team Pons
The Kalex dominate, Corsi in fourteenth place is the best of the Italians
Esteve Rabat achieved the best time in the first Irta test session in Jerez de la Frontera. The Team Pons driver brought his Kalex ahead of everyone with a time of 1:43.837. The Spaniard preceded his compatriot and team-mate “Polyccio” Espargarò, trailing by just 63 thousandths. Another Kalex follows, that of the Japanese Nakagami, driver of Team Italtrans. The Japanese is 136 thousandths from the top and in turn precedes the Frenchman Johann Zarco, French driver of Iodaracing, riding a Suter by 319 thousandths.
Behind the former Team JiR rider we find a group of Kalex, exactly four. They are those of the revived Toni Elias (former world champion of the Moto2 class), Scott Redding (British rider of the Marc VDS Racing Team), Julian Simon (Team Italtrans) and Axel Pons, with the Kalex Pons. Closing out the Top Ten are Nico Terol with the Suter of Team Aspar and Anthony West with the first Speed Up.
First of the Italian drivers is the Roman Simone Corsi, fourteenth with the Speed Up of the NGM Mobile Racing Team. The former IodaRacing rider precedes the 2012 Moto3 class champion Sandro Cortese, 1.104 behind Rabat. The other Italian drivers are Alex de Angelis from San Marino, eighteenth, and Mattia Pasini, twenty-fourth, both riding the Speed Up of Team NGM Mobile Racing.
