Moto2 | Valencia GP Qualifying: Canet outsmarts Aldeguer and takes pole
The Italians did poorly, the best was Celestino Vietti, 11th
Moto2 GP Valencia Qualifying – Aron Canet takes the last pole position of the 2023 MotoGP world championship in the Moto2 class.
The Team Pons driver achieved it on the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia with a time of 1:33.314, a time which allowed him to achieve the seventh pole position in the intermediate class.
The #40 will have Fermin Aldeguer (SpeedUp) and Marcos Ramirez (OnlyFans American Racing) next to him on the front row, 0.174s and 0.194s behind respectively.
Second row for Sam Lowes (Marc VDS), Jake Dixon (Aspar) and the 2023 World Champion Pedro Acosta (Red Bull Ajo). Joe Roberts (Italtrans) is seventh and will have Filip Salac (Gresini) and Albert Arenas (Red Bull Ajo) next to him on the third row.
Celestino Vietti (Fantic Racing) and Dennis Foggia (Italtrans) finished in 11th and 12th position while they did not pass Q1 between the Italians Tony Arbolino (Marc VDS), who will start from 19th position, Matteo Ferrari (Gresini) 24th and Mattia Casadei (Fantic Racing) 30th.
