Moto2 | GP Portimao Qualifying: Salac is pole, Vietti is fourth

Moto2 GP Portugal Qualifying – Pole Position for Filip Salac in the Portuguese Grand Prix Moto2 class, first race of the 2023 MotoGP championship scheduled in Portimao.

The Team Gresini rider achieved it with a time of 1:42.323, a time obtained on the fourth of the eight passes made and which allowed him to beat Aron Canet (Pons) by just 58 thousandths. Also on the front row is Pedro Acosta (Red Bull Ajo), 0.284s behind.

Good qualifying for Celestino Vietti, who will start from the second row, fourth fastest. Manuel Gonzalez (VR46 MasterCamp) and Jeremy Alcoba (Gresini Racing) will start next to him.

Albert Arenas with the Kalex of Team Red Bull Ajo is seventh, ahead of the Team Marc VDS duo of our Tony Arbolino and Sam Lowes.

Fourth row for Bo Bendsneyder (SAG), Darryn Binder (Intact GP) and Jake Dixon (Aspar). Lorenzo Dalla Porta (SAG) will start from 21st place and category rookie Dennis Foggia (Italtrans) from 23rd.

The 3 Moto2022 World Champion Izan Guevara is absent, who will also miss the Argentine Grand Prix due to injury.
