Moto2 | GP Valencia FP1: Luthi in command, Bezzecchi is fifth
Back Luca Marini, struggling with some physical problems
Moto2 European GP Valencia Free Practice 1 – Thomas Luthi achieved the best time in the first free practice session of the Moto2 class in Valencia, a session held with wet asphalt and resulting rain tyres.
The Team Intact GP driver achieved the best time with a time of 1:48.975, a time that allowed him to beat the Spaniard Hector Garzo by 0.128s, who in turn precedes Aron's Team Aspar Speed Up by 0.293s Canet.
Hafizh Syahrin with the second Speed Up of Team Aspar is fourth (he was also the victim of a bad crash, ed.) and precedes the best of the Italian drivers, Marco Bezzecchi, Sky Racing Team VR46.
Sixth time for world ranking leader Sam Lowes (Marc VDS), the Briton is ahead of our Nicolò Bulega (Team Gresini), Enea Bastianini (Italtrans), Simone Corsi (MV Agusta Forward) and Lorenzo Baldassarri (Team Pons), with the latter who turns 24 today and to whom we send our best wishes.
Stefano Manzi (MV Agusta Forward) and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Speed Up) occupy twelfth and fifteenth position respectively, while Luca Marini (Sky Racing Team VR46) is further back, only twenty-eighth, almost four seconds from the top. Marini could be affected by a fall during training, where he hit both his shoulder and ankle.
