Moto2 | GP Qatar Race: Bastianini, “The important thing is to continue like this”

The Italtrans Racing team driver, Enea Bastianini, was the author of a beautiful race which saw him finish on the podium in third place. Thanks to a good qualification, Enea was always among the protagonists of the race and had a good tussle with Lorenzo Baldassarri, who however gave the winner, Tetsuta Nagashima, an advantage.

“I struggled at the end with Balda, in fact I tried to attack him in the last part, in the fast corners and I lost contact with Tetsu (Nagashima, ed.), who was going very fast and it would have been difficult to catch up. But in the end we had fun and we'll see next time if we can go faster. I lost a few positions halfway through the race, I found myself in contact with the leaders and I must say that it was tough but in the end I managed to save the tires for the last laps and finish on the podium. In my opinion we couldn't have played for the victory with Balda because in the final laps, Tetsuta had an edge. With the fact that I was fast in the fast points and Balda in the slow ones, we hindered each other and lost contact with him.".

The goal for this year?

“I want to watch race by race, the important thing is to continue like this, always finish on the podium and have good races”.
