Moto2 | GP Portimao Qualifying: Gardner mocks everyone and takes pole
All the title contenders will start, with Marini second and Bastianini and Lowes in the second row, far away from Bezzecchi
Moto2 GP Portugal Portimao Qualifying – Remy Gardner wins the pole of the Portuguese Grand Prix, the last stage of the 2020 Moto2 class MotoGP World Championship.
The Australian driver with a final flash mocked everyone by stopping the clock at 1:42.592 ahead of Luca Marini (Sky Racing Team VR46) and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Speed Up).
The world championship leader, Enea Bastianini (ItalTrans) will start from fourth place ahead of his first opponent, Sam Lowes (Marc VDS) still sore after Valencia.
Jorge Martin (KTM Ajo) will start eighth ahead of an excellent Nicolò Bulega (Gresini) and Augusto Fernandez (HP Pons). Marcos Ramirez and Tetsuta Nagashima complete the top ten.
After passing the Q1 trap, Marco Bezzecchi will start from the twelfth place, while Lorenzo Baldassarri, after an excellent start, recorded only the 17th time.
The following did not pass the Q1 trap: Stefano Manzi (Mv Agusta Forward), Lorenzo Dalla Porta and Simone Corsi who will start from 18th, 19th and 25th place respectively.
