Moto2 | GP Misano 2 Race: Bastianini show, Bezzecchi second

Moto2 GP Misano Emilia Romagna Race – Enea Bastianini wins the Grand Prix of Emilia Romagna and the Riviera di Rimini, eighth stage of the 2020 Moto2 world championship.

At the first start Vierge manages to take the lead of the race followed by the Italians: Marini, Bezzecchi and Bastianini, after about 5 laps the Spanish driver loses the lead of the standings, but the race is suspended with a red flag due to the weather conditions. The second restart was interrupted at the warm up lap due to the continued worsening of the weather conditions, significantly worse than the first red flag.

On the third restart Enea Bastianini began to hammer away straight away, managing to gain a margin from his pursuers and taking him to the checkered flag. The driver from Rimini, thanks to Luca Marini's fourth place, relaunches himself in the fight for the world championship.

On the podium an excellent Marco Bezzecchi (Sky Racing Team VR46) who tried to keep up with the winner until the checkered flag. Sam Lowes completes the podium.

After a clash with Vierge, Marcel Schrotter finished fifth ahead of Jake Dixon and the two SpeedUp standard bearers: Jorge Navarro and Fabio Di Giannantonio. Tom Luthi and Nicolò Bulega (Gresini) complete the top ten.

Lorenzo Dalla Porta (ItalTrans) precedes Stefano Manzi (Mv Augusta Forwar) and Mattia Pasini (KTM Ajo) and finish in 14th, 15th and 16th position respectively.

Marini remains leader of the world championship standings with 125 points against Bastianini's 120, Bezzecchi's 105 and Sam Lowes' 83.
