Moto2 – Jerez Test Day 3 – Claudio Corti sets the best time of the 3 days

Claudio Corti, Forward Racing rider, set the best time of the Spanish 2-day event on the third and final day of the Moto3 tests in Jerez de la Frontera. The driver aboard his Suter in fact stopped the clock at a time of 1:44.044, ahead of Spaniard Toni Elias's Gresini Racing in the time classification, trailing by 219 thousandths. Great performance therefore for the STK 600 European champion and three-time vice-champion in the STK 1000 who will go to Losail (first race of the world championship which will start on Sunday 11 April) with the knowledge that he can fight for the top positions.

Behind Corti and Elias with the third fastest time we find the RSV driven on track by Karel Abraham; the Cardion AB Motoracing team driver has a gap of just 247 thousandths from Corti and precedes the British Scott Redding on Suter of the Marc VDS Racing Team, the Promoharris of the American Kenny Noyes and the RSV of the 2009 125cc champion Julian Simon. The latter lapped in 1:44.450, just over four tenths from Corti's best time, followed by Jules Cluzel, Anthony West on MZ, Yonny Hernandez's BQR and Swiss Thomas Luthi's Moriwaki.

The San Marino Alex De Angelis riding the Moto2 of the Scot Racing Team is twelfth while the other Italians are Niccolò Canepa 16th, Roberto Rolfo 17th, Alex Baldolini 18th, Raffaele De Rosa 23rd, Mattia Pasini 26th, Andrea Iannone 28th and Simone Corsi 31st.

This afternoon the Honda engines will be delivered which can be mounted on the bikes but which cannot be used before the Losail race.
