Julian Simon, 2009 world champion in the eighth-litre category, has as his next goal that of winning a world championship in the new Moto2 category, a category which will replace the quarter-litre category next year. Simon will always be part of the Team managed by Jorge Aspar Martinez, a Team with which he felt very comfortable and a highly experienced Team. The category promises to be very beautiful and hard-fought and for this reason Simon is enthusiastic about being part of it, here are his words as reported by "AS" online edition.

“The new Moto2 category will be very beautiful, very competitive and with all the same engines we will have to adapt quickly. I will try to do it as soon as possible, because next season's results will depend on it." Simon then talked about the 125cc title he won this year.

“Initially it was difficult to move down a category (last year he raced in the 250cc), but it was a courageous decision made with the team. I have achieved something great and I am sure that by racing with the same anger I can do well in every category."
