“We are fighting for the title.” Sete Gibernau has always been convinced of this, even in the last two weeks when two consecutive falls put him to the test. Another great race was needed to put an end to the difficult moment and this happened at Donington where Sete reached the podium of the English Grand Prix together with his teammate Colin Edwards.
Donington Park was the scene of a great show of strength for the Telefonica MoviStar Honda MotoGP Team: Sete took third place on the podium, a third place that smacks of victory, while Colin crowned a fantastic weekend with the second step of the podium. For the Texan also the fastest lap, achieved during the eighth lap.
Gibernau moves back into second place in the World Championship, 22 points behind Valentino Rossi, while Colin Edwrads regains fourth place. The Telefonica MoviStar Honda team once again positions itself at the top of the team classification.

COLIN EDWARDS (2nd): “After an excellent start during the winter tests, the start of the championship was problematic for me due to chattering. I had no feeling with the bike and I wasn't able to express my potential because I immediately reached the bike's limit. We worked a lot with the team to solve the problems. In Germany I encountered a good solution for the rear. Thanks to my technical boss and my entire team here at Donington we also fixed the front and found the right balance of the bike. I immediately had an excellent feeling with the bike on the English track and today's result demonstrates the work done. I have to thank the team, Michelin and Honda. As for the race, I started from the second row, in the first laps I drove aggressively to lead the race, but when I realized that I couldn't catch Valentino I drove more conservatively to guarantee myself the podium. I believe that this podium of mine represents a decisive turning point for the second part of the championship.”

SETE GIBERNAU (3st): "I'm really happy. After the last two crashes it was important to get a good result and this podium is equivalent to a victory for me. I feel like a winner especially when I think back to the last two GPs and the two test sessions. In fact, we hadn't found the right setting and last night we decided to revolutionize the bike. In the warm up we couldn't test the new solutions because the track was wet so in the race I tried to give my best by adapting to the bike. In the first laps I tried to understand the bike, then I pushed and in the end we achieved the podium. I thank the team, Honda and Michelin. Now I'm going on holiday but I can't wait to be in Brno, never before have I been ready to fight for the title.”

FAUSTO GRESINI (team manager): “It's the first time we have both of our riders on the MotoGP podium. It's a fantastic result after two difficult races. Sete's podium was important and Colin's even more so. I am satisfied to see Colin strong and fast and I am sure that this result will be a turning point for him for the second part of the season. Colin's result strengthens the team and the team renews its challenge for the title.”
