Civ Imola – Michele Pirro he wins the first round of the season exactly as he did in 2016, despite a penalty denying him the title. However, his race was not easy due to his lack of knowledge of the bike and the tires which meant he had a quiet start and then overtook Lorenzo Zanetti and take home the victory. Excellent race also for Zanetti who however complains about the tire choice being too conservative. The wild card closes the podium Michael Rinaldi who said he was very happy with the result despite having raced the Superstock configuration bike in view of the World Championship.

In Moto3 he was the standard bearer of Team Italy Edoardo Sintoni (Mahindra) to win the first race of the Championship. Behind him the two riders of the Gresini Racing Team Anthony Groppi e Tommaso Marcon (Honda). However, the great expectations for the debut of the Max Racing Team were disappointed Max Biaggi, both riders actually crashed during the race.

See you tomorrow for race 2.
