CIV Mugello PreMoto3 – as usual the very young PreMoto3 riders manage to put on the most competitive and exciting races.
Today the leading group put on a show with a no-holds-barred brawl that saw the Tuscan hills act as the stage for an endless series of overtaking and counter-overtaking.
Leonardo Taccini, Thomas Brianti, and Riccardo Rossi – for the 250 4T – e Gabriel Giannini – for the 125 2T – they fought for the victory until the last corner of the last lap. Bucine itself reserved a surprise that shuffled the cards: a lap in the center of the trajectory shuffled the positions giving the victory to the debutant Thomas Brianti followed by Leonardo Taccini, Riccardo Rossi and Gabriele Giannini, the latter being the only representative of the 125 2T and therefore category winner.
They complete the eighth-litre podium Raffaele Fusco 2 ° e Devis Bergamini 3 °.

“I come from the pit bikes where I race with Team Rotek – he explained Thomas Brianti (in the photo on the starting grid) – and I thank them for the opportunity to have been able to race in the CIV. Thursday I saw Mugello for the first time and I was impressed by the steep climbs and descents, I had only seen the track with the Play-Station. Today I started well, I was 3rd at the first corner, then I tried to go away but the straight is too long. For this reason I put myself in 4th position and in the end I tried to win, and succeeded."

“I didn't expect Thomas to do so well straight away,” he said Leonardo Taccini – it was still a good race and I had a lot of fun. Unfortunately we had the unexpected lap and Brianti was smarter and cheated us. However, I am happy for this 2nd place which allows me to have the lead in the general classification."

“Today I expected such a close race – he concluded Riccardo rossi – even if that lapped at the last corner surprised me. Fabio Di Giannantonio gave me some advice today: he told me to stay inside the first corner and not to overdo it."

“I honestly didn't expect it today – he said Gabriel Giannini, winner of the 125 2T – I immediately took the advantage at San Donato and followed the 4 times. Every now and then I turned to see who was behind me and I noticed that my opponents were fighting each other, which gave me a nice margin. I got 3 wins out of 3 races and 2 pole positions, I can't ask for more."

But today we were also spectators of another particularly positive debut: Damian Jigalov, a twelve-year-old from Chicago, tried his hand at CIV with RMU. This is a particular project, also supported by Dainese, which allowed this very young rider to make his debut in Europe - today 5th in the PreMoto3 125 2T - and to make this Championship increasingly open to the world.

“Mugello – he said Damien Jigalov It's very different from the other tracks but I really liked it, especially the two Arrabbiate ones. I'm here thanks to RMU who for my birthday – a few days ago – allowed me to do a test in Misano with the other guys and Valentino Rossi. Today I had a lot of fun, and this 5th place on my debut counts as a victory. In qualifying and testing I was worried, but during the race I immediately had an excellent feeling: the start already surprised me with how good it was. The rest of the race was very hard, I pushed a lot and I'm very happy with this result."
