Civ Imola – today it was the turn of the 2nd round of the Italian Speed Championship and in Motorcycle 3 was Nicholas Spinelli (Ktm) to win after the usual battle that characterizes this category. Already after the start, a small group of five pilots took off: Anthony Groppi (Sling), Edoardo Sintoni (Mahindra), Kevin Zannoni (Ktm), Tommaso Marcon (Honda) and, indeed, Spinelli. In the final laps the battle heated up, resulting in a long series of overtaking and counter-overtaking. The race, as often happens in Imola, was decided at the Variante Bassa in which Zannoni, who occupied the first position, arrived wide leaving room for Groppi to attack him who however crossed the corner, albeit slightly, receiving a penalty of 1 second which cost him 4 positions. Thus it was Spinelli who won ahead of Sintoni - new leader of the Championship - and Zannoni.

“This was a beautiful race – he began Nicholas Spinelli – right from the first lap we were in a tussle and I think it's one of the best I've ever had. Frankly, I didn't notice Groppi's cut and I'm very happy for this victory."

“It was very important to keep calm and take points – he explained Edoardo Sintoni – and so far everything is going really well."

“I felt very good with the bike – he concluded Kevin Zannoni – but also from a physical point of view. At the beginning I fell behind, but when I decided to attack I gained the lead, it's a shame that on the last lap I came wide at the Variante Bassa and many people passed me."

Nice race too Superbike where Michele Pirro (Ducati) scores a double. Starting from pole he never lost the lead despite an accident - without consequences for the drivers - on the first lap at Tosa which forced the red flag due to the track being flooded with oil. 2nd Michael Rinaldi (Ducati) with the bike in Superstock configuration and 3rd Robert Tamburini (Yamaha).

“After yesterday's experience, in which I still didn't know the Pirellis well, I tried to improve further – he said Michele Pirro – and I am satisfied. I'm also pleased that new talent like Michael and Roberto are coming forward and could be the future. Despite having changed tires compared to last year, my feeling is even better."

“I thank Michele for the kind words – he commented Michael Rinaldi. I'm very happy with the race, I consistently lapped with times lower than the Superstock track record, the championship in which I race. Having a strong rider like Michele in front certainly helped, but without a bike and perfect form it would have been impossible."

“This morning in the warmup we made some changes – the words of Robert Tamburini – and I got better. It's a shame about the second start which wasn't perfect and I lost the first 3. When I saw Zanetti slow down I tried to catch him and I succeeded."
