The first weekend of the FIM Junior World Championship Moto3, a newborn championship born from the "ashes" of the minor category of the Spanish speed championship, ended with the victory of Poleman Joan Mir Mayrata (Ioda).

However, the Machado team driver did not have an easy life. Nicolò Bulega, who started second, gave the Spaniard a hard time until two laps from the end, when a mistake forced him to settle for the fight for the bottom step of the podium.

Also benefiting from the Italian rider's mistake was Aron Canet Barbero, one of the new riders fielded by the Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0, left orphaned by both Fabio Quartararo and Maria Herrera, both promoted to the category world championship.

Excellent start to the championship for Lorenzo Dalla Porta and Stefano Valtulini, sixth and seventh at the finish line respectively. Fourteenth, on the edge of the points zone we find Lorenzo Petrarca with the KTM of the TMR team, while Davide Pizzoli, Tony Arbolino and Cristiano Carpi close the Italian ranking with positions from twenty to twenty-two.

For the Ioda TR004 this is the second season in the CEV again with Team Machado. In 2014 the Moto3 made in Terni achieved podiums and placings with the riders: Jorge Navarro (2nd in Aragon, 2nd in Race1 in Barcelona, 3rd in Race2 in Barcelona, 1st in Albacete) and Marcos Ramirez Fernandez (8th in Navarra, 3rd in Portimao, 9th in Race1 in Valencia and 9th in Race2 in Valencia).

The Ioda TR004, in addition to competing in the CEV Junior World Championship with Joan Mir, is also involved in the Japanese Championship with former 125 world championship rider Youichi Ui, who has already led the Italian bike to victory by winning the NGK Cup in Suzuka in 2014.

Also worth mentioning is Luca Marini's excellent weekend, who after a difficult year in Moto3, seems to have found his dimension in Moto2. After the second position obtained yesterday in qualifying, today he finished the two heats in fifth and fourth position.
