The new Proton V5 on the track

Nobuatsu Aoki expressed his optimism for the 2004 MotoGP world championship
which is about to begin, especially after testing the new V5 last weekend
in Valencia. The Japanese driver completed several laps with the new version
of the 990 cubic meter prototype, before his teammate, Kurtis
Roberts
compromised the 2003 motorbike in a fall. However the test with
the new bike was enough to give the Japanese rider excellent results
impression and look at the next appointments with optimism.

“The 2004 Proton represents a radical change,” he comments
Aoki who is starting his seventh season in the premier class. "We have
a new frame that transmits a better feel; we have also improved
weight distribution and lost seven or eight kilos. It's an advantage that yes
transmits a better feeling, allows you to enter corners more forcefully
and personally I really appreciate an advantage of this kind. We should succeed
to gain another two or three kilograms before the start of the championship,
I am very excited. We would like to be 100% ready for the first race and we are
doing our utmost to achieve this."
