Among the many topics of interest in the next round of the production-derived World Championship, which will start tomorrow, Friday 28 April at the TT Circuit in Assen, there is certainly the season debut of the reigning European Superstock 1000 champion Raffaele De Rosa, who will replace Markus Reiterberger in the Althea BMW Racing Team for the remainder of the year.

Unfortunately, the German rider decided to retire to fully recover from the injury he suffered following the bad crash in Race 2 at Misano last season, from which he never fully recovered.

De Rosa, who began 2017 as Team Althea's test rider, has contested three races in WorldSBK so far and spent three seasons in World Supersport where he secured a top 10 finish, before winning the SKT1000 title last year. last year in the last round in Jerez, again with Genesio Bevilacqua's team.

“I'm very happy to finally start my season, before the idea was to only do a few wild cards, but now that I have the chance to do the rest of the season my motivation is at its maximum” – he said Raffaele De Rosa – “Last year I won my first Stock race in Assen. We will have to pay attention to the weather, which in Holland is always an unknown, but my goal is to stay focused and do my best. I can not wait to leave…"

The Italian driver will therefore compete alongside Jordi Torres who for his part is eager to get on track at the legendary TT Circuit Assen, where last year he secured the top 5 in the race.

After the good test carried out at MotorLand Aragon, Torres he spoke about his feelings ahead of the Dutch round: “Assen is a track that I like and where I always like to race. Last year I managed to get a good fifth place in Race 2 and this year I hope to be able to do even better. The only unknown is the weather, given that low temperatures are expected. The Aragon tests were positive and this gives me hope not only for the Assen round but also for the rest of the championship."
