Marco Simoncelli dominated the third and final day of testing of the quarter-liter in Jerez de la Frontera. The reigning Gilera champion in fact stopped the clock at a time of 1:42.477 (below the 2008 qualifying times), a time that allowed him to put Spaniard Alvaro Bautista (author of the best performance yesterday) and Jules Cluzel behind him surprisingly he preceded Alex Debon (Aeropuerto-Castello-Blusens – 1:43.189), Hiroshi Aoyama (Scot Racing Team 250cc) and Hector Barbera (Pepe World Team – 1:43.306), author of the best performance on the first day.

Barbera completed 25 laps in the morning alone as he did not take part in the second session due to a fall in the morning, putting Roberto Locatelli's Gilera and Gabor Talmacsi's Team Balaton Racing Aprilia behind him. Behind the Hungarian we find Thomas Luthi (Emmi – Caffe Latte – 1:43.611), Karel Abraham (Cardion Ab Motoracing – 1:43.658), Ratthapark Wilairot (Thai Honda Ptt Sag – 1:43.744) and the Czech Lukas Pesek.
Followed by the 125 2008cc champion Mike Di Meglio and our Mattia Pasini, Raffaele De Rosa and Alex Baldolini.
