250cc – Sepang FP1 – Kallio Leader

Mika Kallio set the best time in the first free practice session of the 250cc class on the Sepang circuit in Malaysia, the penultimate stage of the 2008 world championship and the last class that has yet to award the world title. The KTM rider achieved it with a time of 2'08.084, behind him we find the Spaniard Alvaro Bautista on the Aprilia of Team Mapfre Aspar and the Team-Mate Hiroshi Aoyama 108 thousandths behind him. Behind the Japanese were the Spaniard Espargaro and our Mattia Pasini and Marco Simoncelli. The latter with a series of combinations could celebrate the world title on Sunday.

Excellent performance by the Thai Rattapark Wilairot, seventh on the Honda of Team Thai PTT SAG and ahead of the Gilera of Roberto Locatelli from Bergamo, the KTM of Julian Simon, the Gilera of the Milanese Fabrizio Lai and the Aprilia of the Spaniard Alex Debon. Sixteenth and twenty-first times respectively for Alex Baldolini and Simone Grotzkyj.
