Mika Kallio set the best time in the first free practice session of the 250cc class on the Sepang circuit in Malaysia, the penultimate stage of the 2008 world championship and the last class that has yet to award the world title. The KTM rider achieved it with a time of 2'08.084, behind him we find the Spaniard Alvaro Bautista on the Aprilia of Team Mapfre Aspar and the Team-Mate Hiroshi Aoyama 108 thousandths behind him.
