250cc – Mika Kallio “blocked” by KTM for 2009, even if…

He's not a cover character. He speaks little, works hard. He is not exalted by the press around the world, he is not compared to any of the greats. He's not newsworthy, that's it. However, Mika Kallio, quietly, with a KTM not yet at the level of the official Aprilia RSA, finds himself at the top of the 250cc rankings. Always there, always vying for a place on the podium or for victory. An incredible consistency of performance, an exemplary professional and test driver: fast, concrete, determined. A man who "teams up" and "selects", taking into account that the only FRR fighting with the Aprilias is his.

Indisputable qualities that could enchant several MotoGP teams for next year, but for the moment neither Kallio, nor his entourage are taking this prospect into consideration. On the other hand, the Finn has an agreement with KTM for next year too, but under one condition: he will be released in the event of an important offer (read official manufacturer) in MotoGP.

Too early to take any perspective into consideration, assuming premature negotiations for 2009. There is a title to win, first of all, then we'll see.
