A domain. Dani Amatrian's Fortuna team achieved another one-two in Losail in the second round of official qualifying, with Jorge Lorenzo holding off teammate Hector Barbera. Riding the official Aprilia RSW250s, the two Spaniards preceded the competition in Noale. Let's hear the words of the two protagonists, starting with poleman Jorge Lorenzo.

“We found the solution to some carburetion problems and achieved the second pole position of the season. The team did an excellent job, and even though the bike isn't 100% we were able to lower the time that allowed us to start first last year. I lapped half a second faster than in 2005 and this shows that in the 250 class there is no stopping development and that the level is always higher. The race will be tough both because of the heat and because the track is very dirty, and it will be very important to be able to get into a good rhythm from the start and not make serious mistakes. This track has many different trajectories, but only one clean one, the only one where it is possible to take the maximum risks."

Behind Lorenzo is teammate Hector Barbera, disappointed by the failure to achieve pole position.

“It was a shame to lose pole position, but at least this time I'm second and very close to Jorge. I was very concrete throughout the weekend and I hope to be rewarded for this in the race. This morning I went better than in the official afternoon session, also because I encountered a lot of traffic at the end and therefore I ruined the lap that could have been worth pole. I hope to start well and not lose the lead to postpone the attack to the final laps.”
