250cc – Brno QP1 – Pole position for Marco Simoncelli
With a great lap Marco Simoncelli took pole position in the 250 class in Brno, ahead of championship leader Hiroshi Aoyama on the front row, at one point in the final minutes leading the standings. The reigning world champion thus takes his third pole of the season after this morning's crash, while Alvaro Bautista crashed in qualifying, only eighth on the grid to close the second row.
Third time instead for Hector Barbera followed by Alex Debon, Mike Di Meglio and the excellent Roberto Locatelli and Mattia Pasini, in sixth and seventh position respectively. The Rimini native, it should be remembered, will test the Pramac Racing Ducati Desmosedici the day after tomorrow, currently ridden by Michel Fabrizio in MotoGP.
Good recovery for Raffaele De Rosa, ninth, while Alex Baldolini will start tomorrow's race at 12 from 15th position on the grid.
