Marco Simoncelli, after a good duel with Mattia Pasini, achieved his third victory of the season in the 250 World Championship, relaunching himself in the race for the world title. The reigning champion beat his compatriot who was in contention for victory for the entire duration of the race, but had to give up on the last lap when "Sic" gained the margin that was enough for him to win the Grand Prix of Czech Republic.

With this victory, Simoncelli is now 32 points behind Hiroshi Aoyama, fourth at the finish line preceded by Alvaro Bautista, third and making a comeback in the last part of the race with also a scary crash on the return lap, when he destroyed his own bike with a soaring beyond the limits. Returning to the race in Brno, the Italians did very well, with Simoncelli and Pasini in the first two positions, but also Roberto Locatelli and Raffaele De Rosa in fifth and sixth position respectively.

Hector Barbera was only seventh, Jules Cluzel eighth with the first private Aprilia followed by Mike Di Meglio, who was close to the podium at one point, but went off the track trying to overtake Hiroshi Aoyama.
