Alex De Angelis, MS Aprilia Italia Corse, concluded the second day of official testing on the Sachsenring circuit by completing a small masterpiece, pole position and best lap. By stopping the clock at 1'24”618 De Angelis beat the record set last year by Sebastian Porto (1'25”118).
On the track that gave him the first podiums of his career, Alex De Angelis seems to be one of the few riders able to best interpret the ups and downs of the German track.

“Today everything went 100% – said De Angelis – the team worked very well and I immediately felt at ease on the track. Already from this morning I was immediately fast and this gave me hope for the official practice session. Luckily I was able to make the most of the new tyre. I'm not under any illusions about tomorrow, but I feel capable of fighting for the best result."

Together with De Angelis, Sebastian Porto (Aprilia Aspar 250) will also start from the front row and ended the day in fourth position with his 1'25”193.

“I've had many problems during these days – said Porto – but I still have tomorrow to sort out the last things. We had some set up problems and above all the engine never pushed as it should have. This is a difficult race for everyone, the Sachsenring circuit requires very decisive driving and is stressful. But I have always done well in Germany and I hope to be able to go strong tomorrow too.”
