The first round of official testing for the German GP for MS Aprilia Italia Corse riders Alex De Angelis and Simone Corsi ended positively. At the Sachsenring, Alex De Angelis took provisional pole position with a time of 1'25"272, while his teammate, Simone Corsi, finished tenth with a time of 1'26"755.
De Angelis was determined to make up for the crash caused by the torrential English rain in the best possible way.

“After the Donington tests – said De Angelis – I found an excellent feeling with the bike. Already this morning I was among the fastest and my pace is good, tomorrow I'm sure we can lap even better. This is an important track for me, at the Sachsenring I achieved my first podium, both when I was racing in 125 and in 250 last year. I just hope that tomorrow it will be less hot than today.”

A few more difficulties for Simone Corsi dealing with the after-effects of the injury suffered at Donington.

“I struggled a lot – said Simone – my leg bothered me and the heat made everything very difficult. I like the track and I just have to try to stay focused to do better tomorrow. The calf injury is improving but I'm still not at my best
