Andrea Dovizioso is 19 years old, he is the reigning champion of the 125 class and in 250 he is already demonstrating all the class that distinguishes him. Fourth in Jerez and second here at Estoril... in a race in which he responded to criticism of his lack of aggressive nature by taking home a magnificent podium of arrogance. Even the points in the standings say a lot: 33 after two races, just 5 points behind the leader, the almost unstoppable Daniel Pedrosa.

Andrea Dovizioso: “Race: at the beginning it was tough because we all started on slicks but the track was wet in certain sections. In these particular conditions, try not to take risks by following someone of reference but not too far from the first; I stayed calm for a while, saving the tires and waiting for the finale. However, in the final laps it was equally tough because the Aprilias are faster on the straight and to pass them you have to be very fast in the center of the corner to exit better and then stay closer to them.

At the start of the Championship, frankly I didn't expect to be so competitive, especially considering the names present in the 250 this year and the fact that I thought it would be easier to ride this 250. In this race however, under the helmet, I was aware to be able to win. In fact, I'm very happy with this podium but a little disappointed that I wasn't able to pass Stoner: the responsibility is mine because I have to be more daring in braking.

If you ask me who is the strongest on the track, I will undoubtedly answer Pedrosa. I'm trying to understand his driving style because he enters corners slowly but opens before the others at the exit and this gives him an advantage. Then there will also be the 10 kg difference in weight but in acceleration it is hard to keep up with him but no controversy: he is very strong... more than on the lap, on the fast and constant pace throughout the race and on all the tracks. Here, probably, he had tire problems but he remains the favourite."

Yuki Takahashi: “I'm very happy with this result on a track I didn't know but, on the grid, I thought and hoped to race in the leading group. After a few laps I realized that I wouldn't be able to keep up with the leaders and I started my race in the second group, the chasing group, together with Aoyama. It was a great challenge in which I gained experience and brought home valuable points. Now China awaits us, a new circuit for everyone, in which we are all on equal terms....".
