Threatening clouds, wet and slippery asphalt. These are the weather conditions at the Sachsenring, with the weather nevertheless improving with prospects for "dry" qualifying. It didn't go like this for the last free practice session of the 125cc, with everyone busy not making mistakes and avoiding trivial and compromising crashes. The person who adapted best, as usual with "wet" conditions, was Mike Di Meglio, the fastest at the controls of his Ajo Motorsport Derbi RSA. The Frenchman, leader of the championship standings, preceded Smith and one of the surprises of Donington, Marc Marquez, with wild-card Schrotter in fourth place, fielded by the legendary Toni Mang's team.

In fifth position is Simone Corsi, ahead of Nicolas Terol, the provisional poleman Gabor Talmacsi, Efren Vazquez and Michael Ranseder, in the top-3 for a long time in this free practice session. Among the Italians, Raffaele De Rosa is 12th, Zanetti 14th, Iannone 17th, debutant Marco Ravaioli recovers a little, now 29th.

Second to last in the rankings Pol Espargaro, struggling to return to racing after breaking his collarbone at Donington Park.
