125cc Phillip Island, Free Practice 2: Cortese confirms his lead
Sandro Cortese repeated the result of the first free practice session by setting the best time in Free Practice 2 of the Australian Grand Prix, the third to last stage of the 2011 world championship. The Intact-Racing Team Germany rider stopped the clock on time of 1'38"530, placing world leader Nico Terol and Motegi winner Johann Zarco behind, respectively by 178 and 574 thousandths.
Excellent fourth is Adrian Martin, nineteen year old from Team Bankia Aspar. The Spanish rider who lapped in 1'39"241 was behind his compatriot Alberto Moncayo (Team Andalucia Banca Civica) and the German Jonas Folger, riding the Aprilia of Team Red Bull Ajo MotorSport.
Closing out the Top Ten are Hector Faubel, with the third bike of Team Aspar, the British Danny Kent, with the second Aprilia of Team Red Bull Ajo MotorSport and the Spaniards Luis Salom and Efren Vazquez, respectively riding the Aprilia of Team RW Racing GP and to the Derbi of Team Avant-AirAsia-Ajo.
First of the Italian drivers is Manuel Tatasciore, eighteenth. The Phonica Racing rider precedes his compatriot “Gigio” Morciano (riding the Aprilia of Team Italia FMI), the Norwegian Sturla Fagerhaug (WTR-Ten10 Racing), the French Alexis Masbou and Alessandro Tonucci, with the second Team Italia bike .
