125cc Catalunya, Free Practice 2: Unstable weather, Terol remains in the lead
The weather affected the second free practice session of the 125 class in Barcelona, scene of the fifth stage of the 2011 world championship. Free Practice 1 leader Nico Terol remained in the lead and stopped the clock at a time of 1'54"691. Second time for Sandro Cortese who has a gap of 793 thousandths from the world championship leader and who in turn precedes the winner of Le Mans, Maverick Vinales and the Frenchman Johann Zarco.
Sergio Gadea is fifth ahead of the German Team Red Bull Ajo Motorsport Jonas Folger and the Finnish Niklas Ajo. First of the Italian drivers is Simone Grotzkyj Giorgi, eighth, the Phonica Racing driver precedes his compatriot Luigi Morciano (Team Italia FMI) and the British Danny Kent and Danny Webb.
Alexis Masbou is twelfth with the KTM and precedes the Dutch Iwema, the Spaniard Faubel, the French Rossi, the Czech Kornfeil and the Spaniard Adrian Martin. The other Italians are Francesco Mauriello 20th and Alessandro Tonucci 33rd.
