125cc Assen, Qualifying: Vinales in pole position
Maverick Vinales will start from pole position in the 125 class Dutch Grand Prix, the seventh round of the 2011 world championship. The Blusens by Paris Hilton Racing rider achieved it with a time of 1:44.597, 188 thousandths better than the Frenchman Johnn Zarco, on Derbi of Avant-AirAsia-Ajo. Third time for Sandro Cortese, driver of Intact-Racing Team Germany. The German, who lapped just two thousandths of a second behind Zarco, precedes Hector Faubel (Bankia Aspar Team), Luis Salom (RW Racing GP) and efren Vazquez.
Seventh is Jonas Folger, the fastest on Thursday; the Red Bull Ajo Motorsport driver precedes world leader Nico Terol who raced in less than optimal conditions after his crash this morning, Sergio Gadea and Danny Kent, another Red Bull Ajo MotorSport driver.
Danny Webb's performance was good with the Mahindra, the Briton is eleventh ahead of the two Phonica Racing drivers, Simone Grotzkyj Giorgi and Julian Pedone. Luigi Morciano also did well, fifteenth on the Aprilia of Team Italia FMI while Alessandro Tonucci and Francesco Mauriello finished in 28th and 35th position respectively.
